Ronald Wanglin, CIC, CSRM
- Chairman of the Board
Ron received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and did his graduate work at Hastings College of the Law. Ron joined his family's agency in 1977 and in 1994 merged with Bolton and Company, headquartered in Pasadena. He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) designations and is a past President of the Independent Insurance Agents Association, Santa Monica (1983-84).
Ron has served on the agency advisory councils for ACE, AIG/Chartis, Berkshire Hathaway, Hartford, Royal/Sunalliance, St. Paul/Travelers and United Educators Insurance Company and has been a frequent speaker on a variety of insurance topics ranging from risk management for educational institutions to intellectual property insurance. Ron is on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance Research Academy, a leading provider of education to the insurance industry and has also served as a Director of Assurex Global, an exclusive network of the world's leading independent brokers.
Ron is also a Trustee Emeritus of The Buckley School (1994-2007), a past Chairman of the American Red Cross (West District, 1981-83), a past President of the Westwood Village Rotary Club (1987-88), and in 1990 was honored by being named Rotarian of the Year.
Steve Brockmeyer, ARM, CIC
- President and Chief Executive Officer
Born and raised in Southern California, Steve graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a double major in Business Economics and Political Science. During his collegiate time at UCSB, Steve was a scholarship member of the Men's Basketball Team and served as President of his Fraternity.
He began his career as a direct sales representative with Wausau Insurance Company before joining Bolton & Company in 1990.
Steve has served on the Board of Governors of the Western Association of Insurance Brokers, the Board of Directors of the IBA West, and the Board of Directors of the IBA West Service Corporation, including a three-year service as Chairman of the Board of the IBA West Service Corporation and current Chairman of the IBA West Strategic Planning Committee. He has also been honored to have been selected to the Board of Directors of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB) which represents the nation's largest brokers in both national and international affairs. Steve has also served on numerous insurance company advisory councils.
He has earned designations as an Associate of Risk Management (ARM) and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Steve is a major shareholder in Bolton & Company, where he currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors, as well as President and CEO of the firm.
Other involvements include past member of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, an active member and officer in the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Member of the Board of Directors for AbilityFirst and volunteering.
Mike Morey, CIC
- Chief Operating Officer
Mike is the Chief Operating Officer of Bolton & Company. Mike's focus is on the growth of the firm's recognition as one of the leading privately held insurance brokerages in Southern California, as well as overseeing the day to day operations.
Mike grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in 1986 with a major in Economics. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mike has had management responsibilities in underwriting, marketing, and sales with both carriers and agencies.
Mike's involvement extends beyond his own firm where he sits on the Advisory Board for multiple National Property Casualty and Health Insurance Carriers.
In addition to his commitment to work, Mike serves on the boards of the La Fetra School Foundation and the Foundation for Glendora Unified Schools where he strives to improve the education of adolescents. He also serves on the finance committee of Citrus Valley Healthcare Partners.
Julie Bowman, CPA
- Chief Financial Officer
Julie began her insurance career in April 1980. She worked with several small regional insurance agents as the agency accountant. She graduated with honors from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
In 1989, Julie passed the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) exam at first sitting. At that time she joined Lucas & Company, CPAs. She continued working with insurance agents, along with performing audit duties to finish the CPA designation.
Julie joined Bolton & Company in February 1999 as Chief Financial Officer. Her extensive knowledge of accounting issues for insurance agencies has been a great benefit to Bolton and Company.
Julie lives in San Gabriel with her husband, Bill, and two sons. She enjoys watching her boys play sports and music, and volunteering for PTA and Little League.
